IIM Trichy inaugurated with batch of 88 students ‎

The IIM family has expanded further with the inauguration of IIM Trichy on 15 June 2011. IIM-T was inaugurated by Gopal Vittal, Executive Director, Hindustan Unilever Limited, at the NIT campus.

A total of 88 students including 73 boys and 15 girls whose average CAT score was 94.69 per cent have been enrolled for the first batch of the Post-Graduate Programme (PGP), at the IIM-T for the academic year 2011-2013.

The teaching faculty consists of 12 members. Three more would join the team soon. According to sources, the total course fee for two years sum up to Rs. 10 lakh and the students can pay their fees in six installments.

While the older IIMs charge Rs. 13 - 16 lakh, the new IIMs, IIM-Rohtak, IIM-Ranchi, IIM-Raipur, charge around Rs. 5-7 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prafulla Agnihotri, Director, IIM-T, assured the students that necessary steps would be initiated by the month of September for campus recruitment, joint training, joint coaching, knowledge exchange and sponsorship for few meritorious students to fly abroad to present papers and other academic purposes.

The inauguration was followed by saplings plantation. The IIM-T logo and website were also inaugurated on the same day.
