Admissions open for BU distance education courses

The Centre for Distance Education of Bharathidasan University (BU), Tiruchi, has opened admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes for the academic year 2013- 2014.

As the programmes offered by the centre have been recognised by the Distance Education Council (DEC), candidates who get their degrees through the centre, are eligible for placement in State and Central government jobs, said a release issued by the university on Friday.

Applications are being issued for UG courses including B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.B.A, B.Sc. Hospital Administration, B.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science, BLISc. Postgraduate programmes like M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., M.C.A, M.B.A. Hospital administration, M.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science, MLISc and diploma are also offered, apart from PG diploma programmes.

Admission applications are available in the following centres in the city – National Higher Secondary School, Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School (Teppakulam), Jamal Mohamed College, and Bharathidasan University-Khajamalai campus. Applications can also be purchased at BU constituent college in Perambalur, Bharath College of Science and Management, Thanjavur; Government Arts College, Karur; H.H. The Rajah’s College, Pudukottai; Madura College, Madurai; Government Arts College, Salem; and Hindustan Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. Forms are also available at study centres of the varsity’s distance education centre.
